Elevating regional foodways through creative collaboration, urban placemaking and innovative community programming in East Austin. The HOPE Farmers Market engages the community in activating culturally significant spaces in East Austin while supporting a regional food system, celebrating local culture and increasing awareness of and access to healthy food. The Sunday market is a weekly showcase, featuring a diverse selection of farmers, food artisans & artists, educational programming, community outreach and great live music. HOPE FM encourages collaboration and mentorship among its contributors, and also provides resources and opportunities to help grow small businesses and lay the foundation for the development of a vibrant local economy. The Sunday market is the longest operating market in East Austin and was voted “Best Farmers Market” by the Austin Chronicle in 2012. We accept EBT/SNAP and WIC benefits – find out more at the HOPE Farm Stand. Photo by Jessica Warren
HOPE FM LIVE
HOPE FM Live is our vehicle to listen local. This program features music from all corners of the city through a weekly showcase at the Sunday market. From a 5 year-old break dancing prodigy to an 84 year-old accordion master, the HOPE FM Live program provides an opportunity for local musicians and performers to share their talent and support the Market at the same time. Through HOPE FM Live, we integrate the traditional and emerging cultures of Austin in a diverse and creative space. If you or your organization is interested in supporting, sponsoring or collaborating with the HOPE FM Live program, please email email@example.com. If you’re interested in performing at the market, please see Booking Info at the bottom of this page. Want to simply enjoy the show? Join us every Sunday at 11am and 1pm!
The HOPE Farm Stand supports small urban and rural growers, redistributes surplus, reduces waste, and increases access to healthy food in East Austin. Each week individuals, community gardeners and small farmers sell their surplus produce to the Farm Stand, giving growers the chance to earn extra income while keeping good food from going to waste. The project provides a meaningful link between the market and the community, connecting a diverse range of consumers and growers through the exchange of beautiful, high-quality produce. Interested gardeners should contact Danny for more information.
We accept EBT and SNAP benefits at the Market. In order to participate, visit the Farm Stand to redeem your SNAP benefits through our market token program.
